9. How do you decide who should receive Sadaqah or Zakat?

The Anfiqu team meets on alternate Fridays. A group opinion is taken based on the available information about the needs along with the available funds. Sometimes the requests are held until further funds are available. These details will be written under the "Notes" in your request.

Zakat is screened more strictly and distributed in accordance with Islamic teachings. In cases of ambiguity, some times Zakat can be substituted with Sadaqah if funds are available.

Please note anonymity is maintained whilst distributing Sadaqah, but in case of Zakat donor and recipient both are informed, whilst their ID is never made public. This is in accordance with Islamic teachings.
