ANFIQU SPEND IN THE WAY OF ALLAH |
"ANFIQU" is an Arabic word which means "Spend".
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) Has told Muslims to spend in His way.
For example in Surah
Baqarah verse 254 Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) Says:
O you who believe! Spend of that with which We have provided for you,
before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship,
nor intercession. And it is the disbelievers who are the
Zalimun (wrong-doers, etc.).

ANFIQU is an unincorporated association run by volunteers.
They operate strictly within the realm of the Sharia Law. They meet on
regular intervals, and authorise requests based on the availability
of funds.
ANFIQU allows account holders to give Sadaqah (voluntary charity)
and Zakat (compulsory charity). Donation is not publicised and every
attempt is made to keep the identity of the donor and recipient
private.
ANFIQU account holders can also apply for interest free Qard (Loan).
The written loan contract is affirmed between the lender and borrower
in the presence of the witnesses.
The Verse of Loan (Arabic: آيَة ٱلدَّيْن, ’āyatu d-dayn) is verse 282 in
chapter Al-Baqara (2:282). This verse is the longest verse at the longest
chapter in Quran. The concept of borrowing was explained in the verse
Allah (SWT) Says:
O you who have believed, when you contract a debt for a specified term,
write it down. And let a scribe write [it] between you in justice. Let
no scribe refuse to write as Allāh has taught him. So let him write and
let the one who has the obligation [i.e., the debtor] dictate. And let
him fear Allāh, his Lord, and not leave anything out of it. But if the
one who has the obligation is of limited understanding or weak or unable
to dictate himself, then let his guardian dictate in justice. And bring
to witness two witnesses from among your men. And if there are not two
men [available], then a man and two women from those whom you accept as
witnesses – so that if one of them [i.e., the women] errs, then the other
can remind her. And let not the witnesses refuse when they are called
upon. And do not be [too] weary to write it, whether it is small or
large, for its [specified] term. That is more just in the sight of
Allāh and stronger as evidence and more likely to prevent doubt between
you, except when it is an immediate transaction which you conduct among
yourselves. For [then] there is no blame upon you if you do not write it.
And take witnesses when you conclude a contract. Let no scribe be harmed
or any witness. For if you do so, indeed, it is [grave] disobedience in
you. And fear Allāh. And Allāh teaches you. And Allāh is Knowing of all
things.

The running expenditure of the organization is paid separately by the
volunteers. None of the donations made as Sadaqah or Zakat are used in
anyway to pay for any expence incurred by the organization.
ANFIQU operates on a cash-only basis. Delivery is usually made by
representatives. Royal mail services may be used if in-person delivery
is not possible. Therefore, it is of paramount importance that the
address and contact details are kept up to date.
If you have suggestions to improve the system, email or write to us.
